Steven West, one of the most original artists I have known. A shadow you will never see, but remains in the darkness creating this awesome works. I agree with Mister Casey Love own words: "This guy rocks"...
Influences: My
biggest influences would have to be Frazetta, Vallejo and Wrightson. As for
sculptors it would be Takeya, Kiya and Kuntz.
Companies: Geometric,
Bowen Designs, Franklin Mint, Earth Bound Studios, D-Boys ( Polydata) and
Enchanted Arts
Expectations: I'm
constantly trying to improve with each sculpt I do. Basically theres this
idea in my head or an image I see and I've got to sculpt it. I like sculpting
things that I'm interested in, its almost impossible guessing what's going
to sell really good so I do what I want , what gets me excited. That's when
you do your best work.
Advice to new sculptors or amateurs sculptors:
My best advise would be to practice, you don't become
good at something without putting time and effort in to it. You also need
to learn how to see, study your surroundings. For instance if you want to
sculpt clothing look at the real thing, how it flows where the wrinkles are
etc. Anatomy is another key, it can make or brake a sculpt. I've seen kits
that have good detail but don't look right because the anatomy was off.
